NEW MUSIC: The Away Days ‘Places To Go’

Istanbul’s Dream Pop band The Away Days took part in festivals abroad such as South by Southwest, The Great Escape, Glimps, United Islands; and festivals on national scale such as One Love, Nilüfer, Newcomers. Warmed up the stage for the likes of Banks, Belle & Sebastian, Massive Attack, Portishead, Wild Beasts, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Local Natives. Received great international media attention. According to The Guardian: “Turkish shoegaze might not be a major phenomenon, but given the breadth of their [The Away Days’] talent, it soon could be”; and Independent included them in their list of “young bands that must be listened to in 2017”. Their first singles were premiered by magazines such as SPIN, NME and Clash. Found their way into the BIRP playlist. Their songs became the favourites of Cheap Monday, H&M and Topshop stores. It is hard to believe they are from Istanbul at first sight. The band’s journeys around the world had a reflection on their chords, inclining them from indie rock to shoegaze, dream pop and psychedelic. The trio’s atmospheric sounds that fill in the venues in their live shows have already become an urban legend.

Their debut album ”Dreamed at Dawn” is out via Pasaj Music. The Album reached #5 album charts which is the best selling indie rock band album ever in Turkey.
