Foxtel’s iconic concert series, MAX Sessions celebrates its 50th event by recording chart-topping international superstars Coldplay. Renowned for their breathtaking stage presence, Coldplay performed exclusively for Foxtel viewers to present 50th MAX Sessions: Coldplay, which will broadcast first on MAX Saturday, August 9 at 7.30pm.
The one hour television special perfectly captures the intimate atmosphere of ‘Midnight’, ‘Oceans’ and ‘Always in my head’ plus the energy of ‘Sky Full of Stars’ – which caused 700 audience members to fall in ‘True Love’ with the ‘Magic’ that is Coldplay’s latest album, “Ghost Stories”. Their greatest hits were not forgotten when the band played “Mylo Xyloto” album favourites ‘Paradise’ and ‘Charlie Brown’, plus highlight performances of ‘Viva la Vida’, ‘Clocks’ and ‘Fix You’ all showcasing the pitch perfect talent of lead singer, Chris Martin.
The captivating performance was the second time Coldplay graced the MAX Sessions stage, having launched the series eleven years ago in 2003. Never before seen footage of Coldplay from their first performance in 2003 is included in the commemorative 50th MAX Sessions 2014 broadcast.
