THEAUSSIEWORD.COM catches up with international artist Lea Baruffato.

How and where did it all begin for you? What drew your interest to the music industry?
For me everything started when I was a kid in a small city from Argentina at my grandma’s house where my older cousin used to live and I was sneaking into his room to grab his guitar (Later he became my guitar teacher). I still remember been captivated by a poster on his wall. It was the album cover from Kiss – Dynasty.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?
It is my passion and I just can’t help it. Music is for sharing, it would be a crime to keep it for yourself!
What are some of your biggest goals you hope to accomplish?
My goal is quite simple, to inspire as many people as I can with music.
What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?
No plans for touring yet, although I’m gonna start releasing music in the near future after a big delay.
Tell us a bit about your latest release and how would you best describe your music?
I have a couple of singles already mixed and mastered and they have influences of Pop, Rock and Latin music with a soft vibe.
Give us an insight into your creative process. What gets you writing songs?
Literally I write about what I know. I Co-write with other songwriters but it always have to come from the heart. People is intelligent and they know when someone is faking it.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
I would’t say so. I’m quite straight to the point in every aspect in life so that is reflected in music as well.
Success, what is the secret to it?
If there is one I’m still trying to find it! Hahaha, now seriously I believe that every person has their own definition of success. For some it can be wining all the possible awards in music and for others having a family. I respect and celebrate hat.
What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
For a guy that comes from a small city in Argentina having the interest from people to me to perform in London it’s something that makes me feel proud. I always looked up to that as something impossible but then I decided to go for it and it actually happened.
Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?
In general the one’s who are genuine.
Are there any new projects in the pipeline?
Absolutely! More original songs to be recorded!
The music industry is constantly changing, where do you see yourself a few years?
Hard to say but I definitely going to be performing, writing and co-writing
What is your favourite and least favourite part about this line of work and why?
Definitely performing and interacting with people is the best part on the other side social media gives me anxiety.

Name a few of your favourite Australian artists.
AC/DC and INXS for sure!!!
The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in getting your records out into the public eye?
That is so true, the industry has changed so much in really short time. Now releasing music is easier than ever but I think there are 40.000 songs uploaded to Spotify daily so now is more a strive for attention more than anything else.
How will you continue appealing to the international market?
I’m just gonna focus in doing what comes from my heart and I’m sure that is going to resonate with the right people.
Do you collaborate with others? Who is on your wish-list?
Yes, I do and I love it. I had the chance of co-writing with people from many different places in the world. If I had to choose one dream songwriter to collaborate with would be John Mayer.
What advice do you give for other artists wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Don’t follow my steps, I’ve done so many mistakes but instead focus on yourself and that everything you do comes from your heart.
A message for your fans. How do you best interact and respond with your followers and fans?
Thank you to each and everyone who dedicated some moments of their lives to listen to what I do. Forever grateful. The best way is through instagram where I’m more active.
