Tell us how it all started. What had you first interested in music?

Music has always been an essential part of my life for as long as I can remember. I picked up a guitar at age 6 and began to embrace classic rock, R&B and classical crossover. At age 11, I found my voice and began to sing. At that young age, I was fronting my own band and performing on the New York City, Long Island club circuit. Throughout my teens, I continued to perform and master my craft , fronting a band with seasoned players. Two of my bandmates had already toured the world. All the music I absorbed and the experience gained from performing live so early on, really shaped the artist I am today.

What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?

I see and hear music everywhere. I am a great listener.  Music can be inspired from a conversation, reading a book, watching a movie and latching on to a scene from that movie. The world around me is a great inspiration and motivation. The motivation also comes from the simple artistic desire to keep my thoughts and heart creative.

What are your biggest goals you hope to accomplish as an artist?

To have my music and message reach the masses! With that said, I would love to tour the world and keep creatively growing with each new experience.

Success, what is the secret to it?

The secret to success is when you don’t compromise who and what you are internally.  One must stay true to his or hers’s own musical vision and follow one’s own creative ethical compass. If this is not done , how can one call themselves an artist? True success comes from painting your own canvas.

What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

Winning a big U.S. and world television show called “Rising Star” and recording my own record with full creative and artistic control given to me by my label.

Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?

In today’s modern age, one solo singer I admire greatly is Duffy from Wales. Her album Rockferry has always been a favorite of mine. When it comes to bands, Arcade Fire out of Canada has a style and energy I find unique. Their live performances are what it’s all about. But in general, my favorites  stars are those from past  generations who have paved the way.

The music industry is huge, where do you see yourself a few years from now?

I see myself as a well-known and respected artist who tours the world.

The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in getting your records out into the public eye?

The mystique is missing that used to be generated in an artist’s body of work. There used to be a certain intrigue as to what an artist was like in person and how that connected with their albums. With social media so much of that has been eliminated.

Name a few of your favourite Aussie artists.

ACDC, INXS and the Bee Gees!

What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?

Yes…actually there are plans to have me tour in the states and eventually do some touring in England and Australia, c’mon Australia help get me there!

Tell us a bit about your latest record, how would you best describe your music?

My sound is me exhaling all that I’ve listened to and absorbed since I was a child. My music is very melodic but the energy in my voice and delivery on both ballads and harder driven songs is my signature. My album consists of socially conscious songs, introspective songs, beautiful heartfelt ballads and songs to make the listener think and become involved. There are also some great covers that I do that give the listener a taste of my musical roots.

Do you have any new projects in the pipeline?
It’s possible that I will be recording a second album as early as June! I might be releasing a new single/video from my debut album as well.

Thanks for the interview! What final message do you have for us today?
I look forward to coming to your beautiful  country with its great rock n roll history and to leave my imprint there! Help me get there!
