The first acts have been announced for Vivid LIVE 2014 and the line-up includes the Pixies, Australian Chamber Orchestra and a special selection of work curated by the Pet Shop Boys at Carriageworks. The ACO will also be joined by The Presets and Giorgio Moroder.
While acclaimed UK artists, 59 Productions have been commissioned to create a brand new artwork for the Lighting the Sails, which has become the visual centerpiece of Vivid Sydney.
2014 marks the sixth year of the popular festival which delivers an innovative line-up of music and art and has become a destination for music aficionados from around the globe.
Fergus Linehan, Festival Director, Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House said: “From The Cure to Kraftwerk, Vivid LIVE has become a focus for artists that have shaped modern popular music. It has also become internationally recognised as a platform for exciting collaborations and the presentation of new music.”
Vivid LIVE Sydney’s annual festival of light, music and ideas takes place from May 23 – June 9. The full line-up will be announced on March 24.
