Splendour in the Grass for Channel [V]

Channel [V] has packed up the campervan and is heading home from Splendour in the Grass – a long weekend at the North Byron Parklands filled with music, dance, camping, wacky costumes, live performances, festival food, and some of the hottest artists from Australia and around the world.
Following the mind-melting music festival Channel [V] will be serving up a one-hour Splendour special covering everything that went down including interviews with some of the biggest acts premiering Saturday August 9 at 2pm EST only on Foxtel.

Tune in to catch headliner Lily Allen speak about her latest album release and her on-stage antics, as well as interviews with Violent Soho, Interpol, Grouplove, Rufus, Foals, Ásgeir, Future Islands and many more. Plus with [V]’s access all areas VIP pass, we take you past security to see what really goes on backstage.
Always ready to get amongst it at Australia’s favourite music festivals, hip-hop maestro ILLY and our very own mullet enthusiast Marty Smiley skipped the queues and arrived in style by skydiving into the festival on the first day with the lucky winner from Channel [V]’s Splendour in the Grass competition.
This years’ explosive Splendour festival line-up included headliners Lily Allen, Outkast, and Childish Gambino, as well as Foster The People, Sam Smith, Kelis, Foals, Future Islands, The Presets, Chvrches, Interpol, Grouplove, Sky Ferreira, 360, Vance Joy, Angus & Julia Stone, The Jezabels, City And Colour, Hilltop Hoods, Ásgeir and many more. With performances from over two-hundred artists and DJs, it’s easy to see why tickets sold out in just a few hours.
The special also includes festival highlights from the main stages and the best bits from the tens of thousands in the crowd. Strap yourselves in, you won’t want to miss this – Channel [V] presents Splendour in the Grass premieres Saturday, August 9 from 2pm only on Foxtel, encore screenings will premiere on Sunday, August 10 at 9.30pm and Monday, August 11 at 6pm.

Pet Shop Boys, The Presets & Giorgio Moroder Join VIVID LIVE 2014 in Sydney

The first acts have been announced for Vivid LIVE 2014 and the line-up includes the Pixies, Australian Chamber Orchestra and a special selection of work curated by the Pet Shop Boys at Carriageworks. 

The ACO will also be joined by The Presets and Giorgio Moroder.

While acclaimed UK artists, 59 Productions have been commissioned to create a brand new artwork for the Lighting the Sails, which has become the visual centerpiece of Vivid Sydney.

2014 marks the sixth year of the popular festival which delivers an innovative line-up of music and art and has become a destination for music aficionados from around the globe.

Fergus Linehan, Festival Director, Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House said: “From The Cure to Kraftwerk, Vivid LIVE has become a focus for artists that have shaped modern popular music. It has also become internationally recognised as a platform for exciting collaborations and the presentation of new music.”

Vivid LIVE Sydney’s annual festival of light, music and ideas takes place from May 23 – June 9. The full line-up will be announced on March 24.
