Moving Pictures Australian Tour

Moving Pictures will get back together for two shows at the Sydney Opera House in October. The band played to sold out shows in 2011 and 2013 after breaking up in 1987. They achieved a number one album in Australia with Days of Innocence in 1981. The album peaked at 101 in the U.S. The 2014 line-up features the Days Of Innocence band with Alex Smith, Andy Thompson, Charlie Cole, Garry Frost and Ian Lees with Mark Meyer who replaced Paul Freedland three singles into the Days of Innocence album. 

“We had a blast on the 30 Years of Innocence & Bustin’ Loose shows in 2011 and 2013 and can’t wait to play in October,” Alex Smith said in a statement. Moving Pictures released two album before splitting. 

Days of Innocence in 1981 featured the classic What About Me (#1 Australia / #29 U.S.), covered years later by Shannon Noll. Matinee, the second album, reached number 16 on the Australian album chart in 1983. The Moving Pictures original spent 6 weeks at number 1 in 1982. Moving Pictures will play the Sydney Opera House on October 3 & 4. Tickets will go on sale at 9am Monday July 14 through ticketmaster.com.au.
