
With a wealth of international creative contacts and a penchant for black, Naomi’s aptitude for pattern making is complimented by Elke’s passion for colour and hands hands-on approach to multi-media textile development, design and hand finishing. Stemming from a background in interior architecture and with a strong eye for detail, Elke Doust excels at producing original prints and ornate embellishments.
The pair also seek to bring artistry and couture finishing to the ready-to-wear market, indulging their dedication to artistic practices new and old, with a core emphasis on luxurious natural fabrics, hand-worked beading and innovative tailoring. Leather, silk and wool are employed for their breathability and way in which the fibres gracefully wear over time.
The label has since featured in the pages of Faint, Grazia and Fashion Trend, and shown on the runways for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival. Accolades include, Stonnington Emerging Designer Award 2012 and both the Melbourne and Sydney
Design Awards ‘Fashion Label’ prize, selection for the ‘Parallel Tensions’ Exhibition during Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2012, and The Spirit of the Black Dress 2013. Naomi Tettmann and Elke Doust join fellow Australian designers for the HOUSE OF BLING SHOWCASE on 20th JUNE 2015 in New York, USA, featuring: guru and highly sought-after fashion king MATCHO SUBA; sparkly handcrafted and bedazzling heels from CRYSTAL SHOE COUTURE; and edgy emerging Melbourne designer MAIA LILLFORD.
