Telecommuter is a solo project of Portland-based producer and composer Alexander Margitich. Originally from Northern California, Margitich was raised in the tradition of Eastern Orthodox choral singing and studied improvisational jazz guitar before diving brain-first into contemporary composition and production at Berklee College of Music.
After touring internationally with the California pop band WATERS and performing with Brooklyn melancholic psychedelic band Andrei Rublev, Margitich is now drawing on his textured musical past to form songs with organic origins through electronic presentation. His unique electronic pop is highlighted by subtly pointed chord progressions adorned with colorful samples, sonorous vocals, and emotive lyrics.
