NEW MUSIC: SZLACHETKA – Old Soul

Nashville based Americana artist Szlachetka’s new single “Old Soul” was released on Friday October 2.  It was produced by Grammy winning producer Scott Underwood (Drummer/ founding member of TRAIN). They recorded it live at Blackbird Studio A and Thunderwood Sound in Nashville between June 30 – July 12 of 2019.

Szlachetka co-wrote the song with his good friend and collaborator Mando Saenz (Miranda Lambert, Midland, Lee Ann Womack, Oak Ridge Boys, Jack Ingram, Frankie Ballard).  The song was conceived shortly after Szlachetka moved to Nashville and was hanging out for the first time at The American Legion Hall in East Nashville during their magical “Honky Tonk Tuesday” nights.

Szlachetka says “I was completely taken by the confluence of people there to enjoy the amazing music. People of all different ages, shapes, sizes, religions and ethnicities were there in perfect harmony and the phrase “there’s a place for you here” popped into my head. Shortly after that, “young heart, old soul” came to me and I wrote everything down and took the idea to my good friend and collaborator Mando Saenz. Acceptance and community is something we all yearn for and this song serves as a calling or lullaby for that sentiment.  It was also really special and fitting that we were able to film the video at the Legion. It will definitely be a memory that I cherish.”
