Jack Colwell is celebrating the end of a break-out year by releasing a new single ‘Coat’, with an accompanying music video. ‘Coat’ is the third single to be taken from Jack’s EP Only When Flooded Could I Let Go, and shows off his keen melodic sensibility and flair for drama. With insistent strings, female backing vocals and a taut rhythm section, ‘Coat’ is yet another attention-grabbing cut that proves Jack is operating purely on his own terms.
The single is accompanied by an arresting music video starring one of Australia’s most renowned actresses Claudia Karvan. Earlier this year saw the release of Jack’s single Don’t Cry Those Tears, which gained traction at radio nationally hitting #1 on the AMRAP AirIt Chart and obtaining full rotation on stations such as Double J, triple j Unearthed, FBi, 3RRR and RTR, with the accompanying music video featured as Rage’s Wild One. Coverage in key publications including Rolling Stone, i-D, and Noisey has established Jack as an artist to watch. As Jack prepares for headline shows in January and a national tour with Sarah Blasko in April, buzz continues to build around his distinctive sound and fierce on-stage persona.
