US DJ Eddie Martinez catches up with theaussieword.com for a special interview!
Tell us how it all started. What had you first interested in music?
I’ve always been into music ever since I can remember hearing the first tunes my father would play on his records and dancing around to Frank Sinatra or Ella Fitzgerald.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?
My drive motivates me. I always want to create and try new things
What are your biggest goals you hope to accomplish as an artist?
I’m hoping to make people feel something they can connect or relate to. There is such a great power in music that can turn your whole world around if needed. To accomplish that and be known for that is what artists strive for I believe.
Success, what is the secret to it?
I’m not sure; when I get there I’ll let you know! I would have to say consistency, confidence & being humble.
What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
That’s hard to say, probably releasing 2 Albums before I reached 30 that I wrote & produced all by myself.
Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?
Anyone who is hungry and keeps changing that inspires me. Rihanna for example.
The music industry is huge, where do you see yourself a few years from now?
Big things hopefully and very busy!.
The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in getting your records out into the public eye?
I’m still getting my feet wet; Social Media has helped i
n many ways but also has ruined it in many ways. There is a lot of volume and mass but not much talent or creativity.
Name a few of your favorite Aussie artists.
Right now, Troye Sivan! And Kylie always.
What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?
Planning a 2017 tour now, working on a new radio show for my label Stimulus Recordings and working with some new artists for some 2017 releases.
Tell us a bit about your latest record, how would you best describe your music?
I recently just released a 14 Track Album “Foreplay” that is a story that weaves through the different genres of house music, I would have to describe my music as sexy with lots of energy and moments to make you feel.
Do you have any new projects in the pipeline?
I do but its still too new to speak about!
