Platinum-selling country star Dallas Smith has blazed a record setting and award winning path across genres for nearly two decades, and now brings that fiery talent to Australia for the first time in his country career, supporting his brand new single Drop which took him all the way to the top of the Canadian country chart earlier this month.
“I’m so excited to finally make my way to Australia and meet all the incredible country fans I’ve heard so much about,” said Smith. “I can’t wait to hit the stage and to check out some of the amazing Aussie country acts as well.”
Earlier this year, Smith released “Drop” from his critically acclaimed EP “The Fall”, which adds yet another career defining moment to one of Canada’s biggest stars, his EIGHTH #1 single.
Boasting a total of 106 million streams, 13 Gold-certified singles, two Platinum-certified singles, three Gold-certified albums and eight #1 singles, Smith has surpassed Shania Twain for the most #1 songs by a Canadian Country artist in the Nielsen BDS era. Drop is the third #1 single from ‘The Fall’ which was produced by Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen) and co-produced by Dave Cohen.
Of the success of “Drop”, Smith says “What an incredible way to celebrate this chapter of my life. This year has already been beyond anything I could have dreamed of, I’m just so grateful and blown away by the continued support from radio, fans, friends and family.”
A multiple JUNO and CCMA Award winning entertainer, Smith mixes the international swagger of country music with pop hooks and the anything-goes attitude of rock. He recently co-hosted the 2019 CCMA Awards with Billy Ray Cyrus, where he also took home trophies for both “Entertainer of the Year” and “Male Artist of the Year”.
In 2016, Smith was invited by Keith Urban to join him on the Canadian leg of the ripCORD World Tour, serving as direct support to Urban and performing a song alongside him each night. This week, he kicked off a massive Canadian headlinging tour alongside Dean Brody, before heading overseas to celebrate “Drop” with his international fans.
It’s time for Australia to join the ride this November.
