From the day she was born, Cassidy Rae Gaiter’s life has been all about singing and country music and so today is very excited to release her debut single ‘Puttin’ On A Show’. A sly critique of Instagram culture. “Puttin on a Show” is about constant pressure to be “perfect”, the pressure for everything in the social media world to be bigger, better and more attractive than anyone else.
I have seen many young people, myself included get so completely consumed by who they think they are expected to be in order to be liked, successful and happy that they create almost imitation personas. I was immediately drawn to the lyrics of “Puttin on a Show” as it is a welcome reminder to live your life how you want to, to not lose who you are and to trust that you are enough just the way you are!
The video for ‘Puttin’ On A Show’ was directed by the very talented Jeremy Dylan. Cassidy who has a Bachelor of Musical Theatre said, “right from the start Jeremy made me feel extremely comfortable and his expertise and professionalism really helped bring my ideas to life. Jeremy and his team were great to work with and within just two days of perfect Sydney weather, it was a wrap. I am so excited for you all to see it and hope you love it as much as we do!
