Wentworth Season 4 Returns on Foxtel’s SoHo May 10!

Foxtel today announced Tuesday May 10 as the premiere date for the fourth season of its internationally acclaimed Australian drama series Wentworth.

image006The story resumes four months after the events seen in the fiery season three finale. The women of H block are returning to Wentworth Correctional Centre to find a new dynamic is in play which will have immediate ramifications for Bea as Kaz Proctor has established a power base. On the outside, Franky is trying hard to be a productive member of society.

As always, no-one should underestimate “the Freak”.

Notions of love and obsession will underpin the 12 episode season.

Last year Wentworth was honoured as the Most Outstanding Drama Series at the 2015 TV WEEK Logie Awards, Danielle Cormack won the Silver Logie and the ASTRA Award for Most Outstanding Actress, and Pamela Rabe won the AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama.

Wentworth S4 stars Danielle Cormack as Bea Smith, Nicole da Silva as Franky Doyle, Pamela Rabe as Joan Ferguson,Kate Atkinson as Vera Bennett, Celia Ireland as Liz Birdsworth, Shareena Clanton as Doreen Anderson, Katrina Milosevic as Sue “Boomer” Jenkins, Robbie Magasiva as Will Jackson, Socratis Otto as Maxine Conway, Tammy MacIntosh as Karen ‘Kaz” Proctor. New castmembers this season are Kate Jenkinson as Allie Novak, who appears from episode one, and Bernard Curry as Jake Stewart and Sigrid Thornton as Sonia Stevens, who are introduced later in the season. Support cast includes Libby Tanner as Bridget Westfall, Jacquie Brennan as Linda Miles, Martin Sacks as Derek Channing, Sally-Anne Upton as Lucy Gambaro, Charlie Tjoe as Tina Mercado and Ra Chapman as Kim Chang.

Wentworth Season 4 starts May 10, episodes will premiere Tuesdays at 8.30pm EST on Foxtel’s SoHo channel. Following the premiere broadcast each week, Wentworth will be available to watch when you want, on demand, via Foxtel Anytime on internet connected iQ boxes. Season 3 of Wentworth Ordered by Foxtel!

The lags and warders of Wentworth prison will do more time with news that Foxtel has commissioned a third season of 12 episodes from FremantleMedia Australia.

Shooting of season two will continue in Melbourne until mid-February and the show will resume filming in March.

The reimagining of Prisoner has sold to more than 20 countries including the UK’s Channel 5, Ireland TV3, Africa’s MNET, TVNZ and Sweden’s TV4. A German-language remake is in production for German network RTL, owned by Fremantle’s parent the RTL Group.

The premiere on Foxtel’s SoHo channel in May 2013 was the most watched non-sports program ever on Australian pay-TV. Across the 10 episodes Wentworth reached 1.868 million unique viewers – 26% of Foxtel subscribers.

On series two the directors are Kevin Carlin, Catherine Millar, Dee McLachlan, Pino Amenta and Steve Jodrell. The writing team comprises Marcia Gardner (script producer), Timothy Hobart (story editor), John Ridley, Pete McTighe and Adam Todd.
