Special Interview | Aria Taylor

theaussieword.com special interview with Aria Taylor.

Give us an introduction. How did it all begin? What had you first interested in music?
Always loved music since I first heard “Teenage Dirt Bag” by Wheatus! I was only like two but I made my dad go out and buy it! Eventually I started singing lessons, learnt the guitar, and then just worked out how much I loved singing and performing.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?
Beyonce! Just to have fun and motivate other people to have fun. I mean, singings more fun than cleaning toilets, right?
What are your biggest goals you hope to accomplish as an artist?
Babysitting Blue Ivy and North West, run for President against Kanye, Global domination, World Gay Icon!!!
What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?
Exams, homework, no tours because school sucks!! Actually, been writing and recording quite a bit, so got lots of new music coming in the next few months and some touting later this year. Looking to tour the US in 2016.
Tell us a bit about your latest album and how would you best describe your music?
Erm, just concentrating on making music and building a fan base before I release an album. But I would describe my music by saying its fun, and pretty generic if I’m honest haha.
Success, what is the secret to it?
If I knew, I’d be doing it, and not telling anyone else! That sounds sarcastic and it is haha. Maybe its scoring an interview on “theaussieword.com”???
What has been your biggest career highlight?
Hmmmm…..probably be releasing my first song “Friday Feeling”. Singing at HiSense Arena in front of 10,000 people was pretty cool…..and I’ve been lucky to perform at some famous venues around Melbourne like the Espy and Ormond Hall.
Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?
Beyonce! Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Lana Del Ray, Mel Jade. Beyonce is an amazing performer, her voice is flawless (no pun intended), her music is incredible, and she’s a great role model. Mel is one of my best friends and a great music mentor.
Any new projects in the pipeline?
YAAAAAS……I’ve been working with the great team at 66Music so keep your eye out (or should I say ear lol) there’s a lot of stuff coming soon.
The music industry is huge, where do you see yourself a few years from now?
Honestly….married to Harry Styles on our own private island! No….I guess still working hard at what I love and hopefullt doing it for a long term career rather than a part time career / hobby.
Name a few of your favourite Aussie artists.
Jessica Mauboy, Bonnie Anderson, Delta Goodrem, and Dean Geyer (he’s cute as ☺). I was lucky to meet Jessica before she performed a few years ago and she was so kind and gave up a lot of her time to talk to me. I’ll never forget that and that’s how I’ll try to be.
The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in getting your records out into the public eye?
The industry is complicated….its a very complicated business….it seems like not everyone is out there to help you….I think it rests with the drive of the artist mixed with a lot of luck.
Thanks for the interview! What final message do you have for us today?
Stay beautiful, stay positive, and support theaussieword.com ☺
