NO H8 Campaign Australia!

The world famous NOH8 Campaign brings their International Open Photo shoot to Melbourne, Australia for the very first time!  Presented by Bling Melbourne & The Substation, on February 15th, 2014 the photo shoot with celebrity photographer Adam Bouska is scheduled to begin shooting Melbourne locals, members of the Hobson City Council along with celebrities at 1:00PM and end at 5:00PM

Participants should arrive “Camera ready” to be a part of this historic campaign and help promote marriage, gender, and human equality through this visual protest.
Later that evening participant’s are encouraged to stay to celebrate this important #NOH8Worldwide event at the NOH8 Closing Party from 8:00pm until 1:00am, also presented by Bling Melbourne & The Substation.

THE NOH8 CAMPAIGN’S PHOTO SHOOTS:
The NOH8 Campaign holds photo shoots, which are open to the public around the world. At each of the photo shoots, hundreds of supporters arrive, many with friends, families, partners, and loved ones, all eager to become part of the Campaign.   Everyone is welcome – all ages, all races, and all sexual and gender orientations.  Dedicated volunteers from each locale are on hand to help.  As they prepare for their photos, participants mingle and share their stories, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and community.  At many of the locations, emcees and performers entertain the enthusiastic crowd, elevating the photo shoots to more than just a photography session. The combination of the underlying purpose behind the photos, and the personalities of Adam Bouska, Jeff Parhsley, and the NOH8 staff and volunteers all contribute to an overall experience that is joyous and memorable.   A small sample of celebrity participants include:

THE NOH8 CAMPAIGN’S MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of the NOH8 Campaign is to promote marriage, gender, and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest.  While initially created to support marriage equality, the NOH8 Campaign and the photographs have come to represent human equality in general. The message has broad based appeal, and the iconic photos have become emblematic for acceptance and anti-bullying.  The NOH8 Campaign is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

  1. Happy to hear NOH8 is coming to Oz. The campaign was very successful in America and they even got conservative Cindy McCain (wife of the Republican John McCain who ran against Obama in 2008) to pose for press adverts. NOH8 helped get the US Supreme Court to rule all the anti-gay marriage laws unconstitutional in America. Equality is for everyone in all countries. It's a brilliant campaign with an important message.
