Kira Puru is Melbourne-based writer, vocalist, performer and voice of the Redfern Now theme.
Puru has earned a throng of dedicated fans and industry accolades with her versatility and dynamic performance. Emerging as a front-woman for Newcastle band, Kira Puru & the Bruise in 2010, she has since collected a bevy of collaborators including: Paul Mac, Caitlin Park, Illy, M-Phazes, Antony Partos, Dave McCormack, Urthboy, andMark Opitz and has spent 2015 touring with Paul Kelly as feature vocalist on the Merri Soul Sessions tour.
‘All Dulled Out’ marks the first single from her forthcoming EP and her debut as a solo artist. Recorded at The Institute Studio Melbourne’s Nicholas Building, where majority ofKira Puru’s forthcoming debut solo EP was tracked, Kira teamed up with friend and producer Jamieson Shaw of Turning Studio, to create ‘All Dulled Out’, a collision of shiny, electronic pop instrumentation with heavy, sorrowful vocals. A melancholic attack on the universal break-up song.
