How and where did it all begin for you? What drew your interest to the music industry?
I’ve played piano all my life, that’s definitely where my musical love comes from. Ive also always been fascinated in how the industry works. I began becoming interested in music production after hearing Skrillex for the first time in 2011.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?
The people and mood around me always influences my music the most. Massive inspirations of mine include; skrillex, flume, far too many to name but those two has always been large influences on my music.
What are some of your biggest goals you hope to accomplish?
I would love to be one of the of the creators to help normalise the ambient genre and reach millions helping improve their moods.
What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?
There is lots of new music on the way that’s for sure. During lockdown I worked hard on numerous super exciting projects that are so close! Unfortunately no plans to tour but maybe one day in the future.
Tell us a bit about your latest release and how would you best describe your music?
My latest release ‘Purple’ was made with one of my favourite collaborators, AK. The song was received very well online which I’m very happy about. ‘Purple’ and my music as a whole is what you would listen to when you want to wind down.
Give us an insight into your creative process. What gets you writing songs?
For myself the creative process can change almost every time. Some day you could be in the studio and come up with nothing then others all you have is your laptop and you create magic. It all depends on the mentally I have when going to create a track, that usually will be the outcome of the track. Anything can get me writing, from seeing something or hearing something, all depends on the mood.
Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
Pure relaxation.
Success, what is the secret to it?
The biggest thing I have learnt is patience is the biggest and best tool you can possess.
What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
My biggest career highlight so far would have to be being able to move to a new city and meet wonderful arJsts and people. Being able to live off doing something I love is something Im grateful for everyday.
Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?
Odesza, Skrillex, Flume, Dr. Dre, Drake, 40, the list could go on forever if I’m honest but I always find myself going back to these artists & producers.
Are there any new projects in the pipeline?
A load of singles, maybe a ep or a album in there too!
The music industry is constantly changing, where do you see yourself a few years?
I’d love to be overseas making some of the biggest music in the world with all my friends & family.
What is your favourite and least favourite part about this line of work and why?
My favourite is definitely being able to wake up everyday and do what I love. It’s the best feeling and something I’ll never get over. My least favourite is this work would by far be the lack of love shown for production & all types of engineering in fact.
Name a few of your favourite Australian ar8sts.
Alison Wonderland, Creed Tha Kid, Mason Dane, Baby Prince, Flume, The Kid Laroi, so much talent that’s untapped in Aus as well that I cant wait to see blow.
The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in geIng your records out into the public eye?
I am not too big on social media, I think music should spread organically. I also spend most of my time working on my craft therefore as a result find myself with no Jme to keep up with what’s going on online, in saying all this, my music being in the ambient genre, it works well as background music and has been getting a lot of attention, shares and used on peoples video. Just recently Justin Bieber was chilling by a cliff and shared my music which was a big vibe!
How will you continue appealing to the international market?
I will continue to work on my Craft and to strive to be the best in my field and will let the music do the talking and appeal to the masses, hopefully 🙂
Do you collaborate with others? Who is on your wish-list?
Of course, I feel as if collaborating can infuse a combination of both your musics. I would love to of course makes records with skrillex.
What advice do you give for other artists wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Stay consistent and always work on your craft. The more you experiment, the more you’ll learn.
A message for your fans. How do you best interact and respond with your followers and fans?
I feel most of my emotions and feelings are put into my music and I hope when they listen they can feel it too.
Any last words?
Thank you to everyone who’s supported my music and art. Theres so much music coming soon.
