Aussie Idol Guy Sebastian Gambles on Stadium Tour

2003 Australian Idol winner, Guy Sebastian,is taking a chance and setting off on his first national arena tour.

Although he might not be taking as much of a gamble as he would be if he was playing roulette at Net Ent casinos, the 32-year-old be certainly taking a professional risk by booking bigger venues across Australia.

Of course, Sebastian’s 2013 Armageddon tour was a huge success and helped him win the Best Live Act at the ARIAs; however, this time around he wants to put together a product that can match his international peers.

With the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Kylie Minogue all putting on musical spectaculars, Sebastian is hoping his new tour, Madness, will be able to achieve the same level of entertainment.

Go Big or Go Home

Kicking off at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre on February 12, before moving to Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on February 14, the tour will visit some of the country’s most impressive venues.
Commenting on his vision for Madness, Sebastian said: I do not believe in just taking a DJ and two dancers. That’s why we are moving to these venues, not because I think I am this and that, but I want to set myself the challenge.” However, despite racking up six number ones and selling more than three million singles and albums, the decision to embark on a stadium tour still has its dangers. Low attendance figures, costly overheads and a gruelling schedule could all be a problem, but this seems to be something Sebastian is acutely aware of. I have lost a lot of money on tours before because we have over shot. But it’s an investment in the fans, to give them a show, otherwise it’s a job and I’m doing this only to make money,” the Aussie singing star said.

A Busy Year for Sebastian

Aside from planning his new tour, Sebastian has been busy promoting Battles Scaresin the US as well as releasing his latest single, Come Home With Me. On top of this, the Aussie Idol recently added a new member to his family in the form of his son, Archer.

For those looking to book a place on Sebastian’s Madness tour, tickets are on sale from August 18 and he’ll be playing the following dates between February 12 and February 28:

  • Wollongong Entertainment Centre on February 12
  • Brisbane Entertainment Centre on February 14
  • Qantas Credit Union Arena, Sydney on February 18
  • Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne on February 21
  • Adelaide Entertainment Centre on February 25
  • Perth Arena on February 28

The X Factor Australia – Wow! Emmanuel Kelly!

It was a spine-tingling emotional rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine on Australia’s X Factor with Emmanuel Kelly on Monday night, the boy from Iraq who was orphaned with his brother, both with severe deformities have won the hearts of the Aussie crowd. Defying all odds, and left for dead in a shoebox by the side of the road in war torn Middle East, Emmanuel took to the stage and sang his life away – Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Guy Sebastian and Spice Girl Mel B moved to tears. His story a tale of survival, a remarkable voice, a wonderful performance.
