How and where did it all begin for you? What drew your interest to the music industry?
It all started with my folks. My father was a musician and my mother was an actress. If anything, growing up in the music business should have been enough to put you me off it. But alas I’m here and I’m a glutton for punishment. I also have no idea what I would do if it wasn’t music.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?
I’m motivated by the thought of being able to create what I want, when I want. To simply make music with no rhyme nor reason all day and night with my friends. To not have to compromise and cater your music to anyone else’s expectations, and to just make the music I want. Lets start there!
What are some of your biggest goals you hope to accomplish?
You’d be a fool to look beyond just making it through 2020.
What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?
My plan is to return to Australia and at the end of the year and hit the road with the release of my EP. But like everyone else, taking it day by day at this point. One thing is for certain though and that’s that there is more music to come.
Tell us a bit about your latest release and how would you best describe your music?
‘Lying Low’ is the latest single of my forthcoming EP ‘A Night Without Shakespeare’, and was written when I first moved to London about how isolated I was feeling at the time. I was casting my mind back to my friends and family in Australia. Questioning what it was that I was doing there.
Give us an insight into your creative process. What gets you writing songs?
My creative process is admittedly something I have never reigned in. I’ve always found it really hard to sit down for no other reason but to write a song. I wish I had the discipline to be able to do that. Instead it’s something that makes me either put down my book, run out of the shower or race home to get my guitar when it hits me.
Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
Only the names have been changed.
Success, what is the secret to it?
Poor man wanna to be rich. Rich man wanna to be king – Bruce Springsteen
Success is a myth.
What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
I still think that playing ‘The Troubadour’ in Los Angeles on my birthday was my biggest highlight. Purely because my father had flown over to surprise me on the night.
Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?
The ones that keep playing and writing music with no intention or desire to be one.
Are there any new projects in the pipeline?
Always.

The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in getting your records out into the public eye?
In my opinion, social media is placing fools on pedestals.
How will you continue appealing to the international market?
Through social media!
Do you collaborate with others? Who is on your wish-list?
I collaborate in a sense that I love working with other musicians, producers and song writers. It’s why I play music. I only ever started playing to make friends. As far as the wishlist goes, it begins and ends with T-Bone Burnett.
What advice do you give for other artists wanting to follow in your footsteps?

A message for your fans. How do you best interact and respond with your followers and fans?
I speak to ‘both’ of them all the time.
