Village Vets Australia Premiere

Highlighting the real-life dramas, emergencies and triumphs of a rural veterinary practice, Village Vets Australia, follows best mates and business partners, Dr Anthony Bennett and Dr James Carroll, when The LifeStyle Channel’s latest local production premieres on Thursday, July 24 at 8.30pm, only on Foxtel.

Village Vets Australia is a heart-warming observational documentary series about the bonds between people and their pets, farmers and their animals, the members of a tight-knit community and at the heart of them all – the friendship of two great mates.

Set in the picturesque Shoalhaven region of New South Wales, Village Vets Australia follows Dr Anthony Bennett and Dr James Carroll as they run their veterinary clinics in Berry, Shoalhaven Heads and Kangaroo Valley and tend to the animals and pets of the close knit communities they have become an integral part of.

Best mates since university and forming an unbeatable working partnership, Anthony and James treat a myriad of animals large and small – from tending to a dying cow and helping to bring many of them in to the world; operating on a bearded dragon who’s swallowed a marble (that’s the equivalent of a person swallowing a bowling ball!); helping an Alpaca mum with her newborn that just won’t feed; conducting in-the-field blood transfusions on a dying sheep; treating some snuffly rescued baby wombats; diagnosing a very sick horse and tending to their roles as honorary vets at the annual Berry Show and the Royal Sydney Show, the vets are constantly caring – each challenge met with a good dose of Australian humour.

In the 5-part one hour series, Anthony and James are also joined by Associate Vets, Bryden Krebs and Hannah Belling and Vet Nurses, Trish Rosa and Kahlia Bugden.

Village Vets Australia premieres Thursday, July 24 at 8.30pm and is produced by Screentime, a Banijay Group company, exclusively for Foxtel’s The LifeStyle Channel.
