Sam Roberts Band have been teasing fans with new music all summer and today the band are excited to officially announce the release of their upcoming brand-new studio album, All Of Us, out October 16 via Secret Weapon / Known Accomplice Records.
All Of Us arrives in the middle of a global pandemic. The album’s opener, “Wolf Tracks” immediately dumps us in the Covidian wilderness, socially distanced from the pack, scattered and alone. Where does the path lead? To a version of the abyss that holds promise? This twilight-set album is not, however, radically optimistic so much as it refuses to fall into despair. Throughout this heartbreaking journey, Sam Roberts Band moves emphatically towards the 21st year of the 21st century, where life isn’t just passing us by, it’s coming at us with a chainsaw and an eviction notice. In this swirl of malevolence, salvation arrives not in the narrow kinship of the wolf pack, but in a much larger program of solidarity. The clue is in the album’s title: All Of Us.
The band’s first single from the album “Ascension” is a genuine arena-rock stomper and has soared up the rock radio charts this summer and has already hit the top 20.
Earlier this summer, the band played a sold-out drive-in show in Ottawa as a part of Ottawa’s Bluesfest 2020. Just announced last week, the band will be playing a few more outdoor shows this summer including two shows in Toronto at the OLG Play Stage at Ontario Place as a part of the American Express Experiences Concert Series. The first show will be on September 29 exclusively for AIR MILES contest winners, followed by the public show on September 30.
Since 2002, Sam Roberts Band have dominated the airwaves, selling out shows, and sharing the stage with legendary bands like AC/DC and The Rolling Stones. Delivering one of their strongest efforts yet, All Of Us is a compelling body of work from a band whose future continues to unfold.

The new single ‘Flashback’ from Mathew V… “Writing this song was one of the hardest things I‘ve had to do in my life. I wrote this song about my experience with sexual violence/rape at seventeen years old, and how that situation has influenced and affected my life today. It was something that I always knew I had to process, and had always avoided. But with every new song I wrote, I still had this in my closet, this weight on my chest.”Continue reading NEW MUSIC: Mathew V – ‘Flashback’
Wang Chung came out of the post-punk, New Wave scene in the UK going on to achieve global success, selling millions of records. Throughout their 35 year career they have released 6 albums and 2 Greatest Hits compilations. They have had 6 US Top 40 hits including a number 1 and other international smash hits including ‘Dance Hall Days’ and ‘Let’s Go’, and achieved cult status with their soundtrack for William Friedkin’s movie ‘To Live and Die in LA’, as well as their original song contribution to John Hughes’ legendary movie, The Breakfast Club. In the process of all of this (and somewhat unintentionally), Wang Chung became part of the contemporary culture of North America. Their huge smash ‘Everybody Have Fun Tonight’, with its now famous line ”Everybody Wang Chung Tonight” saw the invention of a new US verb: ”to Wang Chung”, the band being name-checked by everyone from Homer Simpson, Austin Powers, Two and a Half Men’s Charlie and Alan Harper, Top Gear’s James May and Richard Hammond, to Frasier Crane to name just a few. More recently their music has also featured in TV shows like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, South Park, Glee, This is Us, SNL and The Goldbergs, amongst many others…as well as in movies like Bumblebee, Deadpool and The Fighter. They have also featured in various huge video game titles like Grand Theft Auto:Vice City and in many big commercials.
Wang Chung return with an orchestral take on an all-time classic.

Shot in the beautiful spot that is Stanwell Park and Coledale, NSW, the video follows the story of a man mourning with the loss of his father through flashbacks which feature fellow Australian actor Brendan Moar (Dry Spell Gardening – Foxtel, Coast Australia). “When Harrison’s team came to me with this story it immediately bought the song to life for me. This story is about the aftermath of losing someone in your life that was the glue that held it all together. It’s about a family connection with the ocean, and the strong bond that a father and son share. Jeremy Lindsay Taylor delivers an honest, raw and captivating performance that is the perfect combination of strength and vulnerability.” – Director Anna Phillips
‘Run’ has had strong momentum since its release on Feb 22nd with the track already gaining 300 thousand combined streams across Spotify & Apple Music.
