Having released two independent EPs and a string of successful singles, Australian singer-songwriter Taylor Sheridan is back with a soul-stirring new track When The Demons Come. The new song is a powerful and emotive tour de force highlighting Taylor’s undeniable musical talent and extraordinary gift for storytelling. In the last year Taylor, who began his career in rural Victoria, has been reaffirming his reputation as a compelling live act and an artist to watch in 2020, appearing at the regional Red Hot Summer shows, as well as opening for Vanessa Amorosi and Jon Stevens on their nationwide tours and appearing alongside major Australian artists including Pete Murray, Thirsty Merc, Daryl Braithwaite and John Farnham. The new track has great significance for Taylor; it reflects all the challenges that arise from experiencing mental health issues. Inspired by real-life events, When The Demons Come chronicles the emotional rollercoaster of self-healing with a raw and expressive artistic spirit. As Taylor says of When The Demons Come, ‘The process of writing this song has taught me a lot about myself and one hugely important thing about others, in summary of a simple question: Are you okay?’Taylor’s new release is his breakout track: contemporary, emotionally charged and featuring a strong and evocative vocal performance, a thought-provoking lyric and soulful melodic brilliance. Ultimately the song is about surviving challenges. As Taylor says about the song, ‘When I was writing and in the process of making it, I found myself staring straight into the face of a lot of personal demons and to be completely honest, this song was my outlet and saving grace in many ways. ’ The song also has all the hallmarks of a hit; a passionate vocal performance, a dynamic and luminous production and memorable melodic sections that reinforce the depth of the lyrics. Although Taylor is reflecting from a personal perspective the song has a universal appeal, with one in six Australians experiencing the trials of mental health, this song is bound to connect with many people.
