Tell us how it all started. What had you first interested in music? As a kid, the first band I really listened to was the Newsboys. Somehow through them I got a crazy idea that I wanted to learn the guitar.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music? I want to move people. I want to create an experience that is relatable, but also takes people places they didn’t know they’d be going. But I also make music because I enjoy it. There’s something in me that just doesn’t feel complete without it. I often come alive when I play it. Guitar, sitar, piano, the words I’m singing- become an extension of my soul.
What are your biggest goals you hope to accomplish as an artist? Hmm. Open for Coldplay.
Success, what is the secret to it? I suppose some of that may depend on how you define success. Is it getting signed? Is it reaching a certain position on the charts? Is it making enough money doing music that you can live on it and not work another job? For me it’s maybe largely the last one, but I think I’ve gotten there by continuing to grow. By taking risks.
