How and where did it all begin for you? What drew your interest to the music industry?
It’s hard to pinpoint a time when it all began for us. Individually, our love for music came to each of us at different times. Some of us have had music in our lives since we were very young and some of us picked it up along the way. However, we have been mates since high school, our friendships were formed through love for music and songwriting, the band officially formed in 2018. As for our interest in the music industry, we always saw playing in a band as a way to be connected with both music and each other. When we all finished high school we made the decision that we wanted to make something more of what we had created and that’s when we really began our journey into the music industry.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?
The feeling of creating something and sharing it with the world has always inspired us in life. Being able to come together in a space, just hang out and bounce ideas off of each other, while watching it all develop into a song is incredibly enjoyable and we are motivated by this experience. We also have great respect for the Australian music industry and are really trying to do our part in keeping it alive!
What are some of your biggest goals you hope to accomplish?
We are only just getting started and there is definitely a long list! To some up a few, we would love to record a full length album at some point, especially with our main man Callum Howell!. We all agreed that if we ever headline the Enmore Theatre we will get the setlist Tattooed on us, so that’s definitely a big one! And then I think we would all just love to go on a big tour, whether it’s here at home in Australia or Europe or even the US, we can’t wait to share our music with the world!.
What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?
Yes! We are planning a tour up and down the east coast to start the new year off strong and ride the lightning of our EP release. This will take place between Jan 7th and feb 18th next year so keep your eyes peeled!!
Tell us a bit about your latest release and how would you best describe your music?
‘Running On Empty ‘ started out as an idea 2 years ago. We were Asked to write a song commemorating the great Running On Empty festival held in Cobar, which celebrates the 1982 film. When it came to writing the track, we wanted to take it old school and reflect some of the greats, like “The Angels” and “AC/DC”. Keeping it real gritty and just that smack you in the chest kind of Aussie Rock’n’Roll, we had an absolute blast working together and mirroring a sound that has been around for generations.
We would best describe our music as Hard edge, solid modern rock. We all love classic rock and put our own modern twist on it. We enjoy writing music that is shaped from real life experiences, we have some soft tracks and some heavy tracks. We can guarantee that there’s something in there for everyone.
Give us an insight into your creative process. What gets you writing songs?
It can be very different for us, some songs are born from a guitar riff or a drum beat and a lot of our songs have just started as lyrics. However, some songs just appear out of nowhere, we can be jamming away and someone will play something everyone loves and then bam, an hour later we have a song. These are often our favorite ones!. As for what gets us writing songs, we definitely go through periods when all we want to do is write new material, but we often find that pushing it too hard provides little results. We are yet to figure out exactly what it is that makes us tick when it comes to writing, when we do we’ll let you know!
Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
We would say yes, a lot of the song’s meanings are quite evident in the lyrics but we also write in a way where we wish everyone can have their own personal take on our music. Some of our songs definitely have multiple meanings, we want our fans to interpret our songs in their own way!
Success, what is the secret to it?
If you’re speaking financially, we have no idea! But if you can find a way to live off doing something you love, then that’s pretty damn successful! It’s surely what we hope to do one day.
What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
This is a hard one! we have had some great experiences in the last few years. One of them is definitely recording our debut EP, we spent a week at the grove together, with our good friend and producer Callum Howell. It was one big laugh and we had so much fun recording the tracks. On top of that, earlier in the year we were lucky enough to open for the great Aussie band ‘YOU AM I’, it was such a fun show and being able to share the stage with those legends was unreal! And to wrap it up, playing at the ‘Running On Empty Festival’ in September was probably our favorite gig to date, the people of Cobar are amazing and we had an absolute blast!
Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?
David Grohl, we are huge fans of Mr Grohl and all the work he has done, in nirvana and the foo fighters. He is incredibly inspiring to watch, music drives his life and has kept him going through so very publicly tough times (RIP TAYLOR❤️🦅) we all aspire to be like him.
The Prince of darkness is an idol to all of us, words can’t express the impact Ozzy Osbourne has made and continues to make in the industry, not to mention he has partied harder than we ever will in our lives, we hope he is immortal, it sure seems like it!
We also respect the Chilli Peppers, those legends are like 60 and still ripping, it’s incredible!
Are there any new projects in the pipeline?
We are always brewing up something, we jam together at every opportunity and a lot of these jams involve writing new material. But for now we are just extremely excited for everyone to hear our new EP ‘Uproar’ coming out December 2nd, we know they will love it!!
The music industry is constantly changing, where do you see yourself a few years?
Definitely still just playing as many live shows as we can, working hard to keep putting music out in the world and loving every second of it!
What is your favourite and least favourite part about this line of work and why?
Our favorite part is definitely seeing the look on peoples faces when they’re enjoying a live show of ours, nothing compares to witnessing people resonate with and appreciate the music that we’ve created. It’s the best feeling in the world. As for the worst part, it is probably just packing up after a show, this can still be enjoyable at times but it’s definitely the least fun and most strenuous part of every gig.

The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in getting your records out into the public eye?
As for the impact on the music industry that social media has had, we have not been in the industry for too long, social media has been a big part of our band’s presence since we first started. We can definitely see the downside to social media and sometimes wish we were back in the 80’s, throwing out CD’s to whoever would catch them. However, social media holds some phenomenal platforms that help musicians connect with each other ,connect with fans and grow as a whole. For us it has been a great help in getting our records out to the public, we take great pride in our social media presence and definitely hope that anyone who stumbles upon our band account is inclined to check out our music!!!
How will you continue appealing to the international market?
As of now we are still trying our best to grow here at home in Australia, we hope to one day take a serious approach at expanding internationally, but for the moment we’re just getting started here!!

What advice do you give for other artists wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Just try your best! Don’t let anything get you down and just keep grinding. Write as much music as you can and play in front of people any chance you get. You will hit a stride eventually and you will bloody love it!!
