Tell us how it all started. What had you first interested in music?
As long as I can remember I sang songs. I actually have home videos of me at age 2 belting in the highest chest voice you can imaging over my sister (poor thing) to Disney songs. When I was 8, the Florida Grand Opera took an interest in having me sing the solos in their productions, and all of the sudden it became a career.
What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?
I have always felt like i have something to offer music as an art, and even though my tastes are varied, I definitely feel a musical intrigue when I listen to the Boom and Bust EP. It’s all about getting a sneak peak into my crazy brain.
What are your biggest goals you hope to accomplish as an artist?
Well I think every artist desires the lights of SNL, Late Night Shows, and overall recognition for their work. More than anything though I strive to make songs that are timeless. The search for timelessness, as I have come to appreciate, is something that nobody ever gets to fully comprehend.
Success, what is the secret to it?
Success is relative. I know there is always something bette
r in the horizon – always hungry for more, but trying as hard as I can to enjoy the ride. Even when I have successes I feel like they aren’t good enough. I also know my weaknesses and confront them head on to improve them, or know them so well that I can avoid them entirely. This is very important. Know thyself!

What has been your biggest career highlight so far? Hearing my first pop track “Frequency” on radio was massive. Never in my wildest dream could I have imagined it to do as well as it did.
Which stars of the music industry do you find inspiring?
I am inspired by artists such as Simon and Garfunkel who allowed their music to pave the way. Another who comes into my mind is Prince who always strived to inspire people. If we are strictly speaking about artists who are currently in focus, I really respect both Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, as they are never scared to be themselves.
The music industry is huge, where do you see yourself a few years from now?
I want to do it all. Bring all my genres together, and inspire people forever.
The shape of the music industry has changed significantly over the years, including the use of social media, how do you feel about the industry as a whole and what does it mean to you in getting your records out into the public eye?
I believe things are no better or worse than they ever have been or ever will be. There are things in my control and things out of my control. In the immortal words of Forest Gump – “life is like a box of chocolates” – and nothing could be more true for the world right now.
Name a few of your favourite Aussie artists.
Sia is Bae. Darren Hayes was a childhood favorite and Samatha Jade is for dessert. But in recent weeks, I have found inspiration from Pauline Pantsdown, whose track “I don’t like it” was somehow prophetic?!?
What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?
I just finished supporting GRL and have gigs lined up oversees in the US and the Middle East. More importantly I am currently working on more music with Sony, and trying to express myself in new ways.
Tell us a bit about your latest record, how would you best describe your music?
My most recent EP “Boom and Bust” was my debut pop record. It is proof in my eyes that I have officially made a genre jump from my Juilliard days. The music is energizing, nostalgic, and moreover nonjudgmental. It represents a genre of music that is music for the sake of music – not trying to be anything other than what it is by nature.
Do you have any new projects in the pipeline?
I do!!! Can I talk about them? I don’t know?!? I will say that some ground will shake in the next 6 months and there will be some serious variety.

Thank you! I know it’s Cliche, but I have to say if a dream is in your heart it is definitely attainable. Don’t be paralyzed by fear or regret for they can only do you harm – And listen to the people who love you and ignore those who don’t.
