Zero Through Nine is proud to announce it’s first release, the Tom Day & Monsoonsiren Collaborative EP, On digital and limited 12” vinyl. Zero Through Nine is a new Melbourne collective focused on releasing exciting and genre defying electronic music.
PhD Chemistry student by day, world class ambient escapist by night, Tom Day has spent the last few years evading study in the wee hours of the morning to create emotive and consuming electronica. With well over one million youtube hits in the last year, Zero Through Nine is proud to announce the release of Tom’s first material for 2013. Tom draws influence from a range of polarising genres. From the film scores of influential composer Thomas Newman, through to Ambient dubstep producers like Burial and Desolate.
For this EP, Tom has employed the help of vocalist Nathan Menon, from Bengaluru, India, otherwise known as Monsoonsiren. The 19 year-old’s falsetto-driven experimental singing style makes him the perfect collaborator for the release. The Tom Day & Monsoonsiren EP will feature 4 original tracks with the limited 12” vinyl exclusively featuring remixes from Berlin based downtempo expat Kyson, and US beat duo Odesza.
The track, ‘Dreams’, was created exclusively for the launch of Zero Through Nine, and the announcement of the EP Listen above at the Zero Through Nine soundcloud page, or here (link to toms soundcloud) This is the second Non-EP track to appear from Tom and Nathan this year, the first being ‘Conversations’ (link to toms soundcloud) which has received over 20,000 plays to date.
