Born in Glasgow, Kevin McGuire may be Scotland’s answer to the Country music wave currently sweeping the UK.
Beginning his career at the age of 17, Kevin quickly went on to perform in top venues including King Tuts, the o2 Academy, ABC and The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Over the last few years, Kevin has managed to build up a following across parts of the UK from supporting artists ranging from the likes of Union J to Deacon Blue. Perhaps this says a lot about Kevin’s music, appealing to many age-groups and styles.
Now, having matured and developed a unique sound (Country-style songwriting mixed with RnB-Pop melodic ideas), Autumn 2016 sees the release of his single ‘3am’. Heavily influenced by the likes of US Country music superstars Rascal Flatts, and current US chart-topper Sam Hunt, we are able to draw comparisons in the Scot’s real-life emotional storytelling.
Of 3am Kevin says, “I feel that, although early, this is already a defining point in my career. In showing the world what I can do, it’s important to try to stay true to myself and what I believe in as an artist. My routes, my life story. This is where Country, Pop and RnB meet. I’m under no illusion that this isn’t something you come across everyday, but it’s me. It’s what comes out when I lock myself in the studio with my guitar.”
