New Music: High Violet ‘Only Heart’

Following on from the release of their energetic, power-pop, debut single ‘Only Heart’, Sydney indie quartet High Violet have just dropped the accompanying video to the track.

Shot entirely in frontman Ricky Kradolfer’s garage, the clip delivers an authentic visual that plays on the energy and rawness of the track.

Bass player Emily Retsas describes the clip –

“We didn’t have much of budget to do a big fancy video, so we just set up a bunch of LED lights, and I managed to convince my boyfriend to take a day off Uni to come and film us playing the song at our rehearsal room, when we were all in Adelaide. We just wanted to do something that was simple, raw and honest.”

‘Only Heart’, recorded with engineer / producer, Louis Schoorl (Daniel Johns, Kimbra, Bertie Blackman) and mixed by Adelaide native Jon Lemon (Sia, Depeche Mode, Oasis), has been an impressive first effort for the band.
