New Music: Boy & Bear ‘Limit Of Love’

A week out from kicking off their national Limit Of Love album tour, Boy & Bear today released the new video clip for their latest single – the title track of their acclaimed, number one debuting third studio album, Limit of Love

With an instant hook and those signature Dave Hosking vocals, the memorable single was recorded live-to-tape in the inspirational surroundings of Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studio with esteemed producer Ethan Johns at the helm (Ryan Adams, Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs).  Offering some insight into the song’s meaning, lead vocalist Dave Hosking says,  “I’ve seen lots of friends lose themselves while searching for love.  We all need to be loved and when people don’t get their fix, it can drive them to do strange things.  We liked the idea of looking at love as a drug, something more sinister, something we quite powerfully depend on.”

After being nominated for a J award for their last video, Walk The Wire, Boy & Bear took the job for the Limit Of Love video back to the same team responsible for the win, Oh Yeah Wow (Goyte, The Paper Kites, Hermitude).  Directed by Andrew Goldsmith and Lucy Hayes, Hosking explains, “We really love the Oh Yeah Wow guys.  This is our third time working with them and they never disappoint.  This time it’s elegant, beautiful and hypnotic.

“We’ll be starting our first tour back home in Oz this week,” enthuses guitarist Killian Gavin, “we’re looking forward to seeing you guys again soon, it’s been a long time since our last tour in Australia, and there’s nothing like playing at home.”

The national Limit Of Love tour will kick off this Friday January 22 at the Odean Theatre in Tasmania, moving through to Festival Hall (Melb) on Jan 23, Thebarton Theatre (Ade) on Jan 29, Red Hill Auditorium (Perth) on Jan 30, Hordern Pavilion (Syd) on Feb 12 and finishing up at Riverstage (Bris) on February 13.
