Close your eyes and drown in the glow is how All The Colours vocalist Josh Moriarty (whom discerning ears will recognize from frequent vocal duties for fellow Australians Miami Horror) invites you in to their latest single, ‘Second to None‘. It’s a slightly unnerving, yet wholly appropriate introduction to a song that is equal parts seduction and discomfort.
Progressive yet vintage, sophisticated yet subtle, the band have a knack for classic songwriting and have built this self-produced song on a warm wave of vintage sonics… but all is not well, as their deft use of snake-charmer melody creates a sense of unease, telling us that there might be a sinister edge to the cooing come-hithers.
The official music video for ‘Second to None‘ was directed by Guy Franklin and will feature on All The Colours’ debut album, due in Autumn 2013.
