Kylie Minogue is doing something different with her new album.The 44-year-old pop star is currently working on her 12th studio record in Los Angelesand will change up her sound under the influence of her new management by Jay-Z’s RocNation label.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: ”It’s a great new energy being with Roc Nation. It’s a very exciting time. It’s bringing out something different in me, which is cool. I need to know what it is to do something different – different style of delivery, different beats, different subject matter.
”I will maintain the DNA of what a Kylie track is, just because I’m on it. I like to try move the goalpost and experiment with different sounds. I can’t tell you exactly what it is. I couldn’t really describe it yet. But I can tell you I’m having a lot of fun in the process.”
Kylie recently teased that the follow-up album to 2010’s ‘Aphrodite’ is almost finished but is remaining tight-lipped on the actual release date. When asked when she would be releasing the album, she said: ”That’s the $64,000 question. This year- I’m hoping sooner rather than later. Is that vague enough?”
The Australian singer also said she can’t wait to debut her new sound to a live audience. She explained: ”There are definitely tracks where I sit in the studio and say, ‘Just give me the audience and this will be magic.’ I’m desperate for that moment.”
