In 2010 Sir Elton John gave an extremely rare opportunity to award-winning Australian dance duo PNAU – access to his old masters.
Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes (PNAU) paid particular attention to Elton’s recordings from 1970 -1976, including the Thom Bell Sessions and albums spanning Madman Across The Water, Don’t Shoot Me, Good Bye Yellow Brick Road, Honky Chateau, Captain Fantastic, Blue Moves and Tumbleweed Connection. From these old masters they have created eight unique new pieces of music using as many as six tracks in the creation of a single new song. After hearing PNAU’s initial creation ‘Good Morning To The Night’ late last year, Elton encouraged the guys to delve even further, resulting in an entire album of Elton John vs. PNAU greatness!
The album Good Morning To The Night – Elton John vs. PNAU, was finished in February this year and will be released in Australian on July 27th through Ministry of Sound and Universal Music. The lead single ‘Good Morning To The Night’ has already been tipped as an anthem for the upcoming European summer, with the track being chosen as one of five official songs for the upcoming London Olympic Games.
