Ellie Goulding Aussie Promo Tour!

UK darling Ellie Goulding will be in Australia later this month to promote her brand new album ‘Halcyon’ which is released in Australia on October 12. ‘Halcyon’ is the follow-up to her hugely successful debut album ‘Lights’.  ‘Lights’ which was released in 2010 and has gone on to sell one and a half million copies and generate five million single sales worldwide.
Ellie’s first performance once in Australia will be live on XFactor on October 30, where she will perform her brand new single ‘Anything Could Happen’, a track which saw 2.2 million Vevo views in its first week of release. The Hereford-born singer songwriter first came to prominence when she topped the BBC Sound of 2010 Poll and was simultaneously awarded the Brits Critics Choice Award. She is the only artist other than Adele to have received both accolades.

On release ‘Lights’ went straight to number one in the Official UK Album Charts, cementing Ellie Goulding’s status as the breakthrough artist of 2010. ‘Lights’ went on to become the biggest and fastest selling debut album of 2010 and has topped triple platinum status in the UK with sales of over  850,000 to date.

Ellie Goulding’s success in the UK has been mirrored internationally and the US in particular has taken Ellie to its heart. Her single ‘Lights’ has sold over two million copies there and relentless touring has seen her play to over 30,000 fans Stateside as well as festival appearances and a sold-out Katy Perry Tour. Now it’s Australia’s turn to fall in love with Ellie.

All the tracks on ‘Halcyon’ were written and co-produced by Ellie Goulding and the majority were recorded in a converted barn in Ellie Goulding’s hometown in the Hay Valley with producer Jim Elliot (Kylie/Ladyhawke).
