Cyndi Lauper will celebrate the 30th anniversary of her debut album, She’s So Unusual, with a special 2-CD deluxe edition. She’s So Unusual: A 30th Anniversary Celebration will be released on April 1 via Legacy.
The 2-CD edition will include the original album, rare demos, live recordings and remixes by the likes of NERVO, Bent Collective and Yolanda Be Cool. A single-CD version will also be available with the original album plus three remixes and a single LP with the original and a certificate to download the remixes.
Liner notes were written by Jancee Dunn who worked with Cyndi on her autobiography. The deluxe edition will also include a reusable sticker set with vinyl cutouts of some of Lauper’s most famous clothing and a 3-D fold out of the bedroom from the Girls Just Want to Have Fun video. No word on whether a Captain Lou Albano cutout will also be included.
Lauper said of the new set “I’m always looking forward, trying to do something that’s new and different but every once in a while it’s good to look back and celebrate. I’ve always been proud of this album, with the statement we made and, most importantly, what it has meant to my fans, I want to thank them for all the years of support.”
