NEW MUSIC: Chris Jobe ‘Lonely Lives’

“Some of us get to walk through life unbothered by our past embarrassments. Others wake up in a cold sweat recounting numerous emotional punches life has thrown. We are defined by our failures and mistakes, but we are healed by the people who care enough to help us through whatever that struggle may be. This message is conveyed in Chris Jobe’s endearing new video for ‘Lonely Lives,'” Ones To Watch’s Kathryn O’Leary wrote on Thursday. “Following Jobe on his precarious New York City adventures, ‘Lonely Lives’ is a metaphor for fighting isolation and trying to let people in… [It] emulates the lonesome feeling we have when we chose to hide our emotions. Though the people in your life may try their best to get you laughing again, humiliation is never easy to combat.” Continue reading NEW MUSIC: Chris Jobe ‘Lonely Lives’

NEW MUSIC: Zacharria ‘It’s Been So Long’

Sydney based Singer/Songwriter Zacharria is thrilled to announce his debut Single “It’s Been So Long”. The single, which is available on iTunes, Spotify and other major online stores, has been described as one of the most promising electronic pop songs for the season 2018/2019.

Now the creative force of this song has a new face with the Thomas Godel remix. This super-up beat and epic drop has taken the song from radio to the dance floor!

Thomas is an international Gold and Platinum awarded Top 50 DJ Remixer and Music Producer, currently based in the US. Many of his remix songs have been played and supported on popular playlists worldwide.

“It’s Been So Long” was originally written when Zacharria reunited with a long-time co-writer of over a decade (they were 16 when they met). It seemed fitting to write a hooky upbeat song about how time had passed but the creative magic and excitement was still there just like when they were 16 again.

Growing up in Adelaide/Australia, Zacharria was inspired by artists like Lauryn Hill, The Weeknd and Maxwell. Writing and recording with some of the country’s platinum selling producers, his unique pop, mixed into soothing ear pleasures, has been aired on Triple J Unearthed and has been voted #1on Fresh FM as ‘Fresh new Artist’.

Fast forward to present moment and Zacharria’s coming of age story sees him pen lyrics of deep content combined with powerful melodies that will raise goose bumps and cover the entire emotional spectrum. Always collaborating with fellow creatives like DJ Remixer Thomas Godel – new music is always created whether it’s an acoustic soul jam or remixes from the U.S.

“I write songs that mean something to me – topics that have affected me in some way. In a world full of noise and distraction, I find solace in the music”

Earning praise such as “reflective, descriptive and full of depth” (triple j unearthed), “a four-minute burst of energy that unites their 80s influences with this punk-meets-dance” (Pilerats), and “the sad-pop anthem you need to knock you right in the feels while simultaneously pumping you up” (Purple Sneakers), and channeling their emotional, 80’s inspired, post-punk, happy-sad vibes, “Capricorn” delivers a sonically energetic punch. Special Interview: MAXON

theaussieword.com catches up with MAXON.

Give us an introduction. How did it all begin? What had you first interested in music?

Music has always been the thing that makes me tick. It snaps me out of any state and makes me feel like I can take on the whole world. Music is the only thing that’s ever really been there and I’ve never wanted to do anything else with my life. I begged my parents for piano and singing lessons at a very young age. I was never surrounded by music, my parents aren’t musical at all, so they were hesitant at first. My biggest inspiration when I finally started singing lessons at aged 12 was Jewel. I used to sit in my room and learn every single lyric to all of her songs and I remember thinking, I want to do this too!

What motivates or influences you in your quest to make great music?

I’m not sure anything really motivates me to write and sing. I just feel compelled to do it. It’s something I think you just have to do. I’m influenced by a number artists and people in my life. Most of my songs are based on life experiences – sorry if you’re the subject of the month! :p

What are your biggest goals you hope to accomplish as an artist?

I always said growing up that it was my dream for people to hear my voice and instantly know it was me. I still think about this all the time but my ultimate dream is to continue my path in music without 4 or 5 other jobs on the side. To just create and tour and play bigger and better shows all the time. I don’t think it’s impossible but it’s a really tough, long, and sometimes, lonely road.

What can we expect from you in the coming months? Any plans to tour?

I’m planning some shows for 2019 at the moment but I’ve got music in the works too so we’ll see. Things change all the time so who knows. I’d love to do more touring but I think I’ll wait until I’ve got more music out.

Tell us a bit about your latest album and how would you best describe your music?

Sweet Silence, Debut Album from Award Winning Artist Ronny Morris

A man is kneeling down on a New York street, listening to the ground. Storm Thorgerson’s illustration (Pink Floyd) speaks volumes, as Ronny Morris opens his debut album with the words “I’m looking at a world stopped dreaming, there is fire in the sky, no meaning”. The native Dane, a family guy and dad of two, talks about his own vulnerability, mortality and the struggles we all face, finding our role in life, on his first full length album entitled, Sweet Silence.
