New Music: Starley ‘Call On Me’

Sydney based artist, Starley, has signed with dance label Tinted Records for the release of her debut single ‘Call On Me’. Starley recently featured on Odd Mob’s uplifting 90’s throwback ‘Into You’, championed by legendary tastemakers Annie Mac, Oliver Heldens, & Danny Howard. With almost 1 million plays online, ‘Into You ft. Starley’ spent a phenomenal 7 weeks topping the ARIA Club Charts – making it the highest performing club track of 2016. Also spending 5 weeks within the Shazam Top 50, reaching #14 in Sydney, and was labelled #5 Future Hits. Starley is back with her debut single off her upcoming solo album, ‘Call on Me’; a guitar-based, dance record, written by Starley as a way of supporting herself through some personal trials in her life at the time.

Starley – “I wrote this song when I was at a low point in my life. I wrote it in my bedroom late one night, on the keyboard. Since I can remember, all I’ve wanted to do was write and sing. I even moved country to pursue my dream and spent years in London, struggling with money, but still believing I would make it. I’d finally got to the point where I was feeling helpless and wanted to give up. I was thinking of walking away from music altogether… That reality was heartbreaking for me. One night, this song just poured out of me. It became a way of telling myself it was going to be ok; almost like an encouragement. It was as if I had created my own lighthouse; a beacon to help me realise my dreams are not impossible. I can do this… I’ll figure it out. I just need to follow my intuition and essentially, call on myself.”

‘Call On Me’ has already received massive support online, reaching no.3 on Hype Machine, with EDM Sauce calling her “the next Ellie Goulding” and Perez Hilton claiming “this is one of the best songs of 2016!!”. ‘Call On Me’ is the first single from Starley’s forthcoming debut album and is available now through Tinted Records.
