New Music: Liz Stringer ‘Anyone’

Anyone’ is the lead single from Liz Stringer’s upcoming 5th studio album, recorded in July 2015 at Type Foundry Studio in Portland, Oregon, USA with acclaimed engineer/producer Adam Selzer (The Decemberists, Jolie Holland, Fleet Foxes, M Ward).

With its driving beat and delay-loaded lead guitar, ‘Anyone’ manages to echo homages to classic 80’s rock and roll (Divinyls, The Pretenders) while remaining timeless, with Liz’s distinctive, smokey vocal at the core.

Stringer wrote ‘Anyone’ in Portland, drawing inspiration from missing friends back home while making new ones on her travels. “It’s a song about friendship and loyalty. I wrote it as a direct message to my friends because I wanted to let them know the gravity of my feelings for them. It just felt like the right time for this song to happen”, Liz says of the track.

‘Anyone’ is a heartfelt reflection on the universal nature of significant friendships and on the connection to place that those friendships provide, mirrored in the accompanying music video, created by Melbourne filmmaker Agostino Soldati.
