Gender, Sexuality, Psychology & Spirituality Symposium

This pioneering event, the first of its kind in the world is both a psychology education and training event, and community event exploring the connections between gender, sexuality and mental health, and the journey of self and spiritfor women, men and gender diverse people.

It will address modern and ancient notions of the feminine and masculine,religion versus spirituality, archetypes, queer people and spirituality, spirituality and culture, and sex as a psycho-spiritual practice.


Also the event will:


– provide valuable education and training in GLBTIQ mental health, transpersonal/spiritual approaches to mental health, and the intersection of these areas which is very rarely available for people

– further the learning, personal growth and spiritual journeys of all who attend, whether clinicians or community, straight or queer

– enable members of the queer community to communicate with the clinicians who provide services to them

– help bring spirituality back into psychology, and bridge modern psychology and science with ancient wisdom

Catered and in a unique learning format, there will be an indigenous welcome to country, keynote address by Luke Gahan, Victorian Director of LGBTI Health Alliance, diverse presentations including by Sally Goldner, Executive Director of Transgender Victoria, experiential workshops including from prominent Australian sex therapist and sexologist Cyndi Darnell, a panel discussion forum, and live performances by headliner US act Amy Walker with over 40 million YouTube views, and James Welsby, dancer and choreographer of the nationally successful HIV themed show HEX.  Other presenters are notable transpersonal psychologists, authors, academics, sociologists, and alternative healers.
