New Music: Undercolours ‘I’m Not Sorry’

Recorded in Los Angeles, ‘I’m Not Sorry’ marks the first single from Undercolours forthcoming EP, slated for release later this year. The single also marks the first official release from twin driving forces behind Undercolours, Flynn Francis and Tim Metcalfe, who’ve been racking up accolades behind the scenes for their songwriting prowess.

Friends since childhood, Flynn and Tim formed Undercolours, writing and recording a series of original demos, which caught the attention of NME and Neon Gold (to name a few), in turn opening up opportunities neither of them could have dreamed of.

While in Los Angeles in 2012, the pair had a chance meeting with Robbie Williams. A fan of their demo’s, Robbie invited them to work with him. Their songwriting partnership resulted in the album ‘Take the Crown’ (2012), the majority of which Flynn and Tim co-wrote, achieving #1 chart position in eight countries worldwide and a sold out European stadium tour (2013).

In 2014, Undercolours have turned their attention back to the original project that kick-started the journey. Grown in a bedroom in Prahran, ‘I’m Not Sorry’ was recorded between iconic EastWest Studios and Williams’ home studio in LA, alongside supremely talented musicians Rob Harris (Jamiriquai), Leland Sklar (Phil Collins, Crosby Stills & Nash) and Karl Brazil (Robbie Williams, Elton John).
